The Hire Alignment Story: How We Came To Be
For the past six years, Hire Alignment founder Sherri Day has been working up close and personal with C-level executives in the areas of purposing and vision. She found that CEO’s love to talk about their vision for the organization, a phenomenon other associates on the Hire Alignment team have also experienced in their work.
Sherri also discovered something else. The executives on their team a CEO considered the most valuable to the organization were all aligned and driven by its purpose. Conversely, those executives on the team they were most concerned with were not.
Over and over CEO’s identified the process of defining and distilling their purpose and making it relevant to everyone in the organization as the most valuable exercise they have ever conducted. Sherri took note. And certainly she observed that the results of a well defined and powerful purpose will not only drive an organization’s operations, marketing and people strategy – it aligns it and defines it.
However, driving this purpose into a company’s people strategy is a challenge in and of itself. The best employer brand is powerful, authentic and clearly communicated. It touches everyone in the company – from the executive team to individual staffers sitting in their cubicle – and it needs to be consistent and resilient enough to “stick” in the outside world.
Sherri realized there was a gap between a company knowing its purpose and using that knowledge to attract top talent. With her deep background in hiring strategies and recruitment, Sherri found her own purpose: to bridge that gap. She identified and gathered the top talent in her field to align around this vision: bringing purpose into the people equation to promote healthy, productive and meaningful work cultures.
